Good day Richard.
I just wanted to let you know the we absolutely loved your course today.
The course layout, condition, caddies and overall experience was exactly what we had hoped. I will recommend Tain Golf Club to anyone visiting Scotland and the Highlands region.
If (or more like when) I come back to Scotland, I will certainly be visiting Tain again.
Thank you very much for all your help with organizing our caddies today. Simon, Martin and James were professional, very helpful and most importantly, engaging. This was one of the finest overall golf experiences I have had in a while.

Good morning,
My partner Carole and myself wanted to drop you an email to thank you for your hospitality and praise your beautiful golf course.
We played Tain on Tuesday 15th June for the first time and we both loved every minute of it.
The staff in the clubhouse were so friendly, your professional was so helpful giving us tips and guidance about the course, the green keeping staff we met as we played all spoke and pointed things out about the course and the members we met who were working on the course were so nice and chatty.
Finally the course itself was in absolutely fantastic condition. I found the greens to be some of the best I’ve ever putted on. Overall though the condition of the course is fantastic.
I’m back playing Tain in August with my long time golfing buddy and we both can’t wait.
Wishing you all good health.
Yours in golf,
David Anderson & Carole McKenna
Hi there,
A short note just to thank everyone at the club for the warm welcome we received last Friday.
We loved the course, particularly the Alps and the par 3s down the stretch.
From the pro who gave us great (and much needed) tips, to the bar staff who made sure we had time for a pint despite being the last group out there, everyone was top notch. Looking forward to coming back and will make sure to highly recommend Tain to anyone planning some golf up north.
All the best,
Dan
Thank you
Message: May I just say a huge thank you for the reception we received today at the pro shop and in the bar. Not only was the course fabulous but so were your staff. Worth waiting a year for!!!!
A great start to our golfing week.
Kind regards
Colin Brooker
'' Can I just say thank you to all the staff at Tain. From the moment we arrived meeting the Pro, to the time we were leaving after lunch it was a total pleasure. Chatted to Greens staff and Barstaff all very pleasent. The course was a great test with every hole being different and tricky. Certainly hope to come back soon''

'' Thanks very much for a very enjoyable day, the course beat us but was in fantastic condition for the time of the year. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try out the clubhouse but we will do the next time we are back.''

"My son and I played Tain last Monday afternoon, and I would like to express my thanks for the warm welcome we received, and send a note of appreciation for your excellent golf course. Despite playing in winds of up to 40 mph (!) we thoroughly enjoyed the course, in particular the The Alps - a wonderful hole with such great views over the Dornoch Firth.
We hope to visit again some time."

"We had a wonderful time at Tain. The staff, the rental clubs, the condition of the course, the food, the beer, even the weather!, were amazing"
Nick Maness, April 2018.
We just completed an 11 day golf tour of Scotland with 16 guys. Tain was a very pleasant surprise for us. We really enjoyed the layout and the graciousness of the staff and members who were present really enhanced our experience. I would highly recommend that anyone with a trip to the north part of the country find the time to play Tain.

Tain Golf Club, what a jewel of a course, the weather and course was perfect. And our Caddie, Cameron, what a nice young man and really knew the course. Already planning next year's trip and Tain will be on the list to play again. The Alps was my favorite hole, but put the pin in the back next time. HA! HA!. Thanks again for letting us play your jewel in the Highlands.

All six of us thought your course was well laid out and in great condition, we enjoyed every minute or our round. Apparantly there was a "wee breeze" blowing, our impression was of a full blowing gale force wind. We will spread the word of how good Tain Golf course is.

Our recent trip was EXCELLENT in every aspect, from our welcome on arrival, lovely bar snacks, to the shop and course, which was a fantastic test of the grandest links, a great variety of holes moving in different directions with some wonderful views. A must play northern gem! Thanks to all at Tain, we'll be back.

My son and I had an unexpected 7 day holiday at Cromarty last week. On Tuesday the temperature dropped to -3 degrees C. Most courses in the area were closed all day. We decided to head North on chance and dropped in on Tain. The starter advised that temporary greens were in operation but the course was open. We jumped at the chance and although we were the only two on the course, the "xmas card" surroundings were delightful and the course was in amazing shape. I last played here some forty five years ago! The starter was also good enough to arrange some warming soup for our return. Full marks to Tain for their friendly and accommodating staff. We shall return.
All the best,
Willie & Colin Ross,

"Would like to say thank you for your hospitality and for allowing us to tee off slightly later. We had an enjoyable game on a lovely testing golf course, the wind (but i am led to believe that wasn't a wind) certainly made it interesting, and some good, great and not so good golf was played. It was good to meet you and hope you had a successful week, thank you once again for allowing us to play your course and for your hospitality".

"The Pro Shop is the only sub-par aspect in my mind when it comes to Tain. And it was just a small, normal pro-shop. Castle Stuart, Royal Dornoch and St Andrews were simply larger and nicer. When it came to the course and the clubhouse, i was blown away with the course. It was the course that was better than my expectations. Similar to some American courses, but still plenty of links holes that made it unique. Course was in great shape and had lots of varied holes, I had a wonderful time after my round and was helped with transportation to my next round. Had a couple of beers and a bacon roll that was good. A Great day overall".

"We enjoyed our visit to Tain very much. Excellent welcome and great course to play. The Pro was extremely helpful and made sure we were updated on the various specifics of the course before we went out. Nice chat after we came in again. Well done and a good ambassador for Tain. We enjoyed the course very much and given the minimal budget your club operates on, it was in super condition. Driving range is somewhat meager, but we came to play not practice. Thank you very much for having us and being so helpful".

“Tain is a fun place where you will have a great time playing golf. Don’t judge it on your initial reaction of the 1st & 18th holes as once further out on to the course there are some absolutely amazing holes. It is also conveniently located to Dornoch and some great local distilleries”

"My first time at Tain coming from West Australia. I loved the course and the whole experience, the pro was particularly helpful and I was very appreciative of both his attitude and professionalism. I wanted to play more rounds here but the weather did not allow it.I very much would like to come and visit Tain GC again in the future. Thanks for a great experience. (I liked it better than Royal Dornoch!!)".

"We were all amazed by the quality and beauty of the golf course and for the extremely good twilight rate. It is a very good, fair challenge, and the greens were in superb shape. Clearly the club are making an effort to welcome visitors. with the bar staff, pro and office staff all going out of their way to make us feel very welcome (we noted a different experience at one of your more illustrious neighbours later in our weekend)".

"We all really enjoyed our game at Tain Golf Course. The weather was glorious that day and we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and other golf players we came across. The pro shop had all the snacks we needed before starting our game. I personally found the course quite challenging as i have a high handicap but the glorious views of the countryside more than compensated. We all enjoyed relaxing and enjoying ice cold drinks in the bar afterwards"

"We had not planned to visit your course, we were on our way to Dornoch and the sun was shining so I said to my wife lets see what this course has to offer. What a great surprise, we were pretty much alone except for the sheep and although the course was a bit waterlogged from the previous nights rainstorm we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Although we lost too many balls we have no complaints, this is a wonderful course with warm and friendly people working there, to sum up there is no way any golfer should drive by your course on the way to DORNOCH without stopping for a round"

"This was my 3rd visit to TGC , unfortunately my wife was unable to play but walked round with me and would like to say the level of welcome afforded to us from the moment we arrived was second to none(if only more golf clubs had the same attitude) and as such your course will always be top of our list to visit whenever we are back in the area "

"This was my 3rd visit to TGC , unfortunately my wife was unable to play but walked round with me and would like to say the level of welcome afforded to us from the moment we arrived was second to none(if only more golf clubs had the same attitude) and as such Our impression of Tain would exceed the excellent category if that were possible, I could rave on but will merely say that when we are again in the area we will not miss a chance to visit tain. This is in spite of the fact we experienced a quite unusual wind which made playing conditions difficult. We arranged for caddies and this was a meaningful part of our experience , they were not only helpful but they were all extremely pleasant and added significantly to our enjoyment"

"One more memorable shot from the unforgettable TainGolfClub in the Scottish Highlands, truly a must visit if you love the essence of links golf, simple and pure, laid across rumpled pastures and alongside the Dornoch Firth. The Old Tom Morris design creation dates back 125 years and features some ...truly unforgettable holes"
"The par-3 16th at TainGolfClub in the Scottish Highlands is a thing of beauty -- and the entire course, which works its way out to the Dornoch Firth and back, is a joy to play, another of the region's true hidden gems."
"Love TheAlps (11th) at TainGolfClub, a perfect example of quirky-cool linksgolf in Scotland. And one of the most beautiful spots on the course, even under cloudporn skies this afternoon."

I had a five star visit to your golf club. From booking a game with Magi to meeting the Pro and his explanation of certain holes to be aware of, talking to the green keepers, a friendly group of guys, then on to the great course a good test of golf, then I met a few of the members and played some holes with them. Lastly, I had a wee chat with with the important people, the ladies in the office and thanked them for a great enjoyable visit. Anyone in the area should take the time to visit Tain Golf Club. You will play a fantastic golf course surrounded by stunning views all round.

GOLF WRITER JIM FINEGAN describes Tain as “golf in a minor key,” and that says it pretty well. Having said that, let me quickly add that Tain, in its minor key, is one of the most unusual and enjoyable courses in the entire country. It’s a Tom Morris layout, so it comes replete with penal bunkers, green-fronting swales, a few blind shots, and imaginative one-shotters. The first hole alone is worth the price of admission: from the first tee it looks straightforward enough, but, out in the fairway, you realize you are about to make a blind second shot over a public byway and a fence to a tucked away, smallish green. Welcome to quirky Tain! Most of the first nine holes hump and bump along inextremis before the ground smoothes out a bit on the inward half. Anti-clockwise routing takes us out and back, perambulating through bucolic pastureland and some of the heaviest gorse plantations on any Scottish course. Tain is beautiful but can be lethal; straight is good. “Alps,” a two-shotter (#11), is reminiscent of Carnoustie’s “Spectacles” and two superb par 3s over a burn at #16 and #17 bring the round to an unusual close. The home hole is plain vanilla made venturesome only by the proximity of the green to the plate-glass windows of the attractive clubhouse built in 1998.And a final note on the setting of Tain Golf Club: On Golf Road, a one-lane track leading to the clubhouse, you’ll drive the length of a striking gothic cemetery and, if you’re a golfer, you can’t help but think, “Here lies the ultimate 19th hole.” Indeed, Tain Golf Club leaves an indelible imprint on the mind.

I really enjoyed playing Tain course and the best compliment I can give it is that I would love to go back and play again. Interesting holes and lovely views. Thankfully the weather was also perfect for our outing. I certainly will be recommending it to be included by any friends planning a trip to Scotland.

I really enjoyed my round at Tain and the hospitality was second to none. It just reminded me of how many fine courses we have in the highlands and how spoilt we are in this part of the world. Tain really is a hidden gem, even from the clubhouse it remains hidden! It's only as you get going past the first hole that everything opens up to you and you can start to appreciate the quality of the holes - and there are some great ones. I'm so glad I played it and took my friends there. You can expect to see us again, hopefully in the not too distant future!!

Today 23 out of the 26 clubgolf coaches playing at Tain were from 8 different golf clubs and they headed for home with a tremendous impression of Tain Golf Club. Conditions always play their part and with a fine autumn morning this reflected how well your golf course has stood up to the season and still in superb condition. The quality of the food and the service was outstanding. As well as Gary's high standards the young waitresses were helpful, polite and caring. Stuart & Gus had everything set up perfectly.
Thank you, Willie MacKay, Clubgolf Regional Manager
Just a short note from the Worth Family to say how much we enjoyed our two rounds at Tain. We all thoroughly enjoyed the course, which was a wonderful natural layout, and everyone who we met was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will certainly be coming back to the highlands, and look forward to playing at Tain again in the future.

Our group has been going on tours like this for the last 25 years. This is the second time we have visited Tain whilst we have been in the NE Highlands and we will be recommending it to others as a great place to play.

"I speak for all our party of golfers when I say that we had a really lovely time at Tain golf club. We drove over to the clubhouse the night before we played and received a warm welcome. The course was excellent and the weather made it even more enjoyable. The greens were great too, as were the members we met and chatted with. The club professional was very pleasant and we enjoyed browsing in the shop. We bought some golf gear also to remind us of our visit. All in all we had a great trip to Tain and Scotland in general. This is our groups 3rd trip to Scotland and our first to the highlands. Please God we will see you all again. An excellent rating for all aspects of your club is our group opinion. Many thanks for your hospitality and kindness"

"Some may take the High Road but I will take the Low Road in Scotland to enjoy the wonderful links courses along the coast line. I have thoroughly enjoyed many links over the years including, North Berwick, Muirfield, St. Andrew's, Carnoustie, Cruden Bay, Nairn, Royal Dornoch, and all the way to Brora. There are many other great links along the way, one of which is Tain, where I enjoyed a round with talented local players who guided me through a landscape of gorse, bunkers and gentle dunes.
The Low Road to Tain is a must for all golfing connoisseurs"

"Having recently played your golf course I would like to thank you for your hospitality. I would also like to say that your golf course is in fantastic condition and was extremely well presented. You should be tremendously proud of your course and the standard to which it is maintained. I look forward to returning again in the near future."

Everything, from start to finish, was uniformly excellent.
We had not planned to visit your course. We were on our way to Dornoch and the sun was shining...so, I said to my wife: "let's see what this course has to offer".
And, what a great surprise! We were pretty much alone, except for the sheep...and, although the course was a bit water-logged from the previous night's rain storm, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Although we lost a few too many balls that landed just off the fairway, we have no...none...zero complaints.
This is a wonderful course with warm and friendly people working there.
I will write a review later, but as you can tell from this, it will be very very positive. In sum, there is no way any golfer should drive by your course on the way to DORNOCH without stopping in for a round.
Thanks for your kindness and hospitality.

Just writing to you to thank you and your wonderful club for a fantastic morning of golf and dining.
